This volume aims to explore the nature of Russian Communist art, design and technology, and uncover the “Soviet Condition”, or the mindset of the people responsible for these works. There exists a type of juxtaposition when considering the nature of the Soviet totalitarian state and the vast legacy that it created, a dark, severe mystery associated with the bizarre and beautiful collection of decaying architecture and infrastructure, uncompromising products, and wildly experimental art, design and music that it has left behind.
